Many of the Notes are designed to be held to full term over 3 to 5 years whilst others (often known as Auto Call Notes) are specifically structured to ‘kick out’ the specified rate of return as soon as a specific event occurs; this could be, for example, the NYSE – New York Stock Exchange index reaching a certain pre-determined level, whilst others have a ‘Profit Lock-in’ feature which ensures that all upward movements in profit are retained by the investor.
